Hi, I'm Jochen, founder of GloveBag.
I was a goalie myself for over 25 years. Week after week, I washed my gloves—or rather, I had to. I never felt like it, but to play my best, I needed maximum grip. With the GloveBag, I want to permanently solve a small but extremely annoying problem for millions of goalkeepers.
To make washing gloves as hassle-free as possible, I tried a few things:
I started by washing the gloves in a sink with heavy-duty detergent – and soon wondered why the coating became hard and brittle so quickly.
Then came the first goalkeeper glove detergents. Of course I bought them. And of course the gloves got cleaner and retained their grip longer – but the effort remained. And the detergents were expensive, too.
At times, I washed my gloves in the shower right after training. Sounds like a time-saving tip—but I was always the last one in the locker room.
At some point I got fed up with it, and from that point on, at least my training gloves consistently ended up in the washing machine.
My playing gloves continued to enjoy the premium hand wash – unless I forgot and had to go onto the pitch with either dirty or soaking wet gloves.
Over the years, I've gained quite a bit of experience. Eventually, I came up with the idea of GloveBag . The more I looked into it, the more I wondered why the GloveBag hadn't been around for 20 years.
I developed the first designs.
Tested the need through a survey of over 250 amateur goalkeepers.
Looking for a reliable supplier.
And perfected the concept.
The result? The GloveBag – a product that turns everything you thought you knew about washing goalkeeper gloves on its head.
